対比 The contrast

こんにちは。
お元気ですか？

前回のブログで書きましたが私のいる中学校は先週まで期末テストがありました。
そして金曜日は終業式だったんです。
※タンザニアの中学校(ordinaryレベル)：１月始まり〜１１月終わりの２学期制。
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　そのうち前期が今回終了。

タンザニアに来て半年弱が経ちますが、約１学期間を経験しておおまかな学校の
流れをやっとつかめまたかなという思いです。

生活には慣れました。
（今ではごく少量の水でお風呂（というよりも行水）完了可能。現在乾期のため水のなさが
　切実です。）

そして今ここにいます。

そうです、首都ダルエスサラームです。

※ダルエスサラーム：実質上の首都。政治的な首都は違う都市にあり。

休暇を利用してここ、ダルエスサラームに来た理由は

１．自分の所属する機構による各種全体会議に参加
２．私用により、とあるテストの勉強＆受験

をするためです。

至るところにある電気・ひねればでる蛇口・舗装された道路・たくさんの車（によって起こる交通渋滞）・
高層ビル・英語でしゃべりかけてくるローカルの方・なんでも揃うお店（スーパー）等々・・・。

都会っ子のタンザニア人は慣れた顔でこの街並みを歩いていますが、その都会っぷりに圧倒されている
村から来た外国人がここにあり。
（日本に帰ったらどれだけ圧倒されるのでしょうか・・・。）

貧富の差・生活レベルの地域格差というのが開発途上国だとさらに如実に表れてるなあ、と改めて思います。

Good afternoon.
How are you?

As I mentiond it in the previous blog, we had terminal examinations until last week and we closed the school
last Friday.
※Secondary shools(ordinary-level)in Tanzania：The school year is devided into two periods from January
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　to November.
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　So this time we finished the first semester.

Half a year has passed since I came to Tanzania and at last I roughly found how one semester is
carried out in the school since I experienced about one semester.

I have been accustomed to the life in the village.
(Now I can wash myself in a tub just by a very little water.Now it's a dry season here in Tanzania, and so we
seriously don't have water!)

Now, I'm where the first picture above shows. Where do you think it is?

In fact, I'm in Dar es Salaam, the capital in Tanzania.
※Dar es Salaam：It is an actual capital. Only politically, another city, called Dodoma, is regarded as
　　　　　　　　　a capital in Tanzania.

The reason I came to Dar es Salaam during this holiday are

１．I should join some conferences managed by the organization, which I'm belonging to.
２．I want to take an examination in Dar es Salaam because of a personal reason, not official.

The electricity being everywhere, fausets running water by being turned off, paved roads,
a lot of cars (and traffiic jams caused by it), high-rise buildings, tanzanian people
who speak to me in English not in Swahili, supermarkets which serve various kinds of goods
and so on.

Local people who live here are totally accustomed to those things written above of course, but there is one foreigner
who are overwhelmed by them. (It's me.)

I can be convinced that there are the unhidden big differences between poverty and wealth or ones in the living
standards on depending on places, especially in the developing country such as Tanzania.
